Kelly Greer
With a robust background in education and a passion for making a positive impact, I am a dedicated professional who has seamlessly transitioned from the realm of education to the dynamic field of Human Resources. Holding a Master of Education from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Education from Shippensburg University, my journey has been marked by both academic achievement and a commitment to community engagement.
One notable achievement that resonates deeply with me is the creation of a children's book titled "Dogs," a heartwarming venture that not only graces the shelves of Amazon and Barnes and Noble but also channels its proceeds towards supporting the Charleston Animal Society, local elementary schools, and families facing unexpected vet bills. Beyond the literary realm, I find immense joy in visiting schools, reading to elementary-aged children, and championing literacy as a means of giving back to the community.
In 2018, I embarked on a career shift to Human Resources, embracing the opportunity to travel globally and connect with diverse individuals while providing support to two business units. Since this pivotal transition, I have further fortified my professional profile with two additional certifications, fueling my aspiration to ascend to the position of Vice President of Human Resources on a global scale.
Beyond the professional sphere, my commitment to community service extends to my role as an Adoptive Mom and Parent Liaison for Adoptive Families, where I advocate for the beautiful journey of adoption and support AdoptTogether.org in bringing families together. Additionally, my family and I actively contribute to the welfare of animals through volunteering with City Dogs and Kitties Rescue, fostering a love for animals in our home and ensuring they find solace in the homes of volunteers rather than shelters.
As a well-rounded individual, my interests span from reading and practicing yoga to exploring new destinations and cherishing the company of turtles. Guided by the timeless wisdom encapsulated in Marilyn Monroe's quote, "A smile is the best makeup a girl could wear," I approach both my personal and professional endeavors with a positive outlook, aiming to create a meaningful impact and leave a lasting impression on those I encounter. My ultimate career ambition is to continue advancing in the field of Human Resources, ultimately achieving the role of Vice President at a global level, where I can leverage my passion for people and diverse cultures.
